This development role, designed to take between 12-24 months, will provide you with the
skills you need to become a skilled Technical Sales Advisor.
Cotswold Seeds is an independent family-run company that works with over 17,000 farmers,
across the UK, supplying seed mixtures and advice to growers planting everything from forage
leys and novel legumes, to cover crops and environmental stewardship mixtures.
Job Description
This exciting role sees you join our small and friendly technical sales team, beginning by taking
and processing customer orders and carrying out associated admin, training to eventually offer
technical advice to Cotswold Seeds customers.
As a main point of contact, on-farm experience either professionally or in a domestic setting is
key to ensuring that Customer queries and needs are met. You will gain insight in to Customers
requirements by discussing, formulating and advising the appropriate seed mixes based on a
range of factors and preferred end results.
Key Requirements
● A background in agriculture with practical on-farm experience.
● Confidence speaking with customers face to face and able to deliver talks/presentations.
● A full and clean driving licence desirable.
● The ability to work unaided and as part of a team.
● IT Literacy, fluency in English and good mental arithmetic skills.
You will be considered a trainee for 12-24 months, depending on your progress and experience
level, whilst you learn the basic operations of the business and develop your knowledge. After
this you will be able to apply for a Technical Sales Position. It should be noted that Technical
Sales Advisors operate primarily from the Cotswold Seeds office in Moreton in Marsh, but
eventually once trained will be expected to discuss and advise on technical matters face to face
with customers on-farm, or potentially speak publicly to larger groups.
Key Responsibilities
● Answer inbound phone calls, enquiries and process seed orders including associated
admin.
● Self-Study to learn more about Cotswold seeds products and how they are utilised by
our customers and a genuine interest in the wider industry.
● Develop your technical knowledge, by learning from your colleagues, interacting with
customers, attending events and training courses, farm visits and talks, enabling you to
provide strong customer service and sound advice by phone, email or in person.
Salary - £18,000 to £21,000 depending on experience and expertise.

associated tasks.

This exciting role within the sales team involves assisting with and taking customer orders by
phone, email and via the website, liaising with customers and carriers regarding
discrepancies, and other office-based tasks as required. Working alongside the technical
sales advisors will offer the opportunity to learn and develop a basic level of technical
knowledge which will improve your ability to service sales calls.
Key Responsibilities
● Answer inbound phone calls and take orders for Cotswold Seeds and Cotswold Logs
● Provide customer service and basic advice by phone, email, or in person
● Liaise with carriers to resolve delivery discrepancies
● Study and become familiar with Cotswold Seeds products
● Assist in other areas of the business as required to gain experience and knowledge
● Customer service for collection customers
● Attend events and training courses as required
● Assisting with other tasks as designated by your line managers
● Maintain a clean and tidy office environment
Key Requirements
● Ability to work unaided or as part of a team
● Fluency in English
● Good mental arithmetic skills
● Good IT literacy
● Professional and friendly telephone manner
● Ability to work well under pressure
● Ability to deal with all aspects of customer service issues calmly and efficiently
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent - Salary: £18,000.00-£21,000.00 per year – depending
on experience.
