Hard Fescue (Festuca trachyphylla)

For many years Hard Fescue has been used as a cost effective option in low maintenance or wild flower seed mixtures, needing a short, hardwearing and non aggressive Fescue species. It is similar in growth characteristics to true Sheep’s Fescue and is one of the slowest growing fescues, which if sown on its own is sown at a high sowing rate.
