Salad Burnet (Sanguisorba minor) wildflower

This erect perennial has green/crimson buds on a slender crimson stalk. This species is common in England and has a preference to dry, infertile soil. Salad Burnet leaves smell similar to cucumber when crushed and traditionally were said to make a nice addition to a salad.
