Uses

Used occasionally as an ornamental grass or for woodland cover, but it does not tolerate grazing very well.

It will tolerate low light levels, so it can be used for woodland glades and rides.

This species can be sown at most times of the year, but will germinate more quickly in warm soils.

Seed
Thinly oblong to ovate in shape, with angular fins running along the seed to blunt end points. It varies from beige to light green in colour, with a smooth texture. The seed is 2mm long.

Flowering Plant
A rich, green / whitish green colour and generally hairless. The leaves are very narrow and tapering to a point, approximately 1-1.5 mm wide and minutely rough. This plant has a very short ligule. The panicle is delicate, slender and branched, often leaning slightly to one side. It has a slightly creeping habit, with surface runners, not rhizomes. Normally reaching between 15-90 cm in height.
