HEALTHY HAY

Involving 12 partners across Europe, Healthy Hay studied the various promising nutritional and environmental benefits of Sainfoin and aimed to reinvent its role in modern farming.

LEGUME PLUS

A follow-on from Healthy-Hay, LegumePlus investigated further the amazing potential of bioactive forage legumes such as Sainfoin and Birdsfoot Trefoil, utilising condensed tannins.

THE CENTRE FOR HIGH CARBON CAPTURE CROPPING

CHCx3 involves 23 partners across Europe and focuses on enhancing carbon sequestration, trialing rotational cover crops, perennial food/forage crops including herbal leys, annual fibre, and perennial biomass crops.

LEGUME LEGACY

Investigating the potential benefits of diverse mixtures with an aim to minimize GHG emissions, nutrient inputs and leaching, while increasing carbon stocks, biodiversity and yield.

GRASSLANDS FOR NET ZERO

Part of the Land Use for Net Zero hub, this project looks to optimise grassland use by trialling GHG-mitigating forages, multispecies mixtures, silvopasture, agroforestry, biomass production and woodland management.
